Welcome to the UCSF Digital Orthopedic Biomechanics Lab

About the lab

We are an interdisciplinary collaborative group of scientists, engineers, data nerds, and clinicians focused on developing new ways to assess MSK patients and predict response to treatments and surgery.

Our work includes developing MRI biomarkers for joint and muscle pathology, using sensors and markerless motion capture for in-clinic and remote biomechancial assessments, and creating clever analytical approaches to create novel patient outcomes and tracking complex recovery trajectories.

We have research projects within spine, total joints, and sports med, and are actively conducting projects associated with DOD, NIH, and UCSF Innovation Ventures.
